Report on the Christmas CPD event 10th December, 2016
“It’s all about working together as a unit”
The ICHP Graduates Association hosted a very enjoyable and well attended event last Saturday afternoon, and attendance by members was both in person and via Skype.
To start the afternoon’s presentations, Keith Dunne web designer launched our re-designed website. The information is now laid out in a more readable and accessible manner and is fully optimised for mobile devices, an absolute necessity going into 2017.
We were happy to hear comments and requested features for the website from members, and these were noted and will be implemented shortly.
Keith made a fantastic offer to attendees, and he is kindly extending his website building offer to all GA members until the end of January 2017. For a special discount fee of €159 Keith will make a new mobile responsive website for you or upgrade your existing one to modern standards based on WordPress.
There are 3 templates to choose from and up to 5 pages will be included. Keith’s fee includes initial consultation about your needs and an information manual to help you to maintain and update the information yourself. This is a genuine bargain as a website design can cost up to €1000 from many developers.
You can view the 3 templates on http://webdesignersdublin.com/ichp/designs/, clicking on any of the images will take you to a full demo of the template.
If you are interested in Keith’s services and would like to discuss your options, he can be contacted by email and by phone 087-2841883.
After a break for tea and coffee, all those received a spot prize. Ciaran Burke of The Garden School kindly contributed plants for some of the prizes.
Carmel Semple gave an explanation of how easy it is to complete the new CPD Booklet to fulfil the requirements for government regulation, completion of CPD and supervision requirements will be mandatory for members going forward. The CPD Booklet is available to download and print from the members’ area on our website at ichp-hpnotherapy.com.
To finish our afternoon’s event, the GA’s brief AGM was held, introduced by Ian Epstein, our ICHPGA Chairperson. The financial report was read and all present committee members were re-elected. It was agreed to keep the membership fee for 2017 at the present low level of €100, the 2017 membership year begins on March 1st.
Ian’s main point was the importance of members actively supporting the Graduates Association so that we can continue the considerable progress which has been made over the past year or two on members’ behalf. This means attending at least one or two CPD events per year either in person or on Skype; the Association has hosted 3 full days and one half day event during 2016, offering members a total of 21 valuable CPD points.
Members can also assist the Association by posting the Association badge on your website (available in the members’ area), and being active on the Facebook group. More about this in the next newsletter.
Committee members have put in a huge amount of work to be ready for upcoming government registration and regulation. Regulation will be an advantage to members as it should mean that hypnotherapy is a recognised therapy for private health care schemes.
The ICHP Graduates Association has gone from strength to strength and now has over 50 members and we need your ongoing support to keep the Association growing – we can’t do it without your support!
Our thanks to those members who attended this event in person or virtually – remember, the more we work together, the stronger our voice on your behalf. We look forward to the opportunities to move forward and grow in 2017, both personally and professionally.
